Executive coaching for leaders in complexity
People who come to me for executive coaching are often performing well. At the same time, they sense that something is at play that is not always easy to articulate: unease, a recurring pattern, the realisation that more is possible — or that things are actually different from what they seem.
I work with leaders who take that kind of signal seriously. Who understand that what happens beneath the surface is at least as decisive as the strategy — and who are willing to look at patterns and drivers. Not because they are failing, but because they want to learn and develop further, for themselves and for those around them.
This coaching is intended for leaders who bear responsibility in complex organisational and political contexts. When rational analysis alone no longer suffices and undercurrents, emotions and patterns play a greater role in decision-making and direction.
What I bring as an executive coach
Scientific grounding
Emotions are not magic. They follow a logic — a biological logic that we understand increasingly well thanks to neurobiology. As a physician and physicist I help you learn to read that logic. What you understand no longer needs to overwhelm you. That insight provides calm and expands your range of action.
Experience in executive and board contexts
I have sat at board tables myself — as managing partner, as partner at KPMG, as an entrepreneur. I understand the force fields in which you operate: the politics, the money, the power. You don't need to explain that reality to me. We can get straight to the heart of the matter.
Deeply lived humanity
I have stood in the dark myself. You have the guarantee that I won't look away when it gets painful. I stay — even when it is difficult. That makes the conversation safe enough to be honest.
Honest sharpness
I don't spare you, precisely because I am on your side. I say what needs to be said and I guarantee you that I won't let go when things get tense. My honesty is not distance — it is a way of holding on.
How a coaching engagement works
We begin with an introductory conversation. We need to find out first whether there is a connection — without trust, coaching is pointless. After that, we determine the contours together. What is at play? Where do you want to go? What do you need? Sessions take place in Amsterdam or online.
The power of slowing down
Speed is often a quality in your work, but not in our conversations. Sessions last an hour and a half — we deliberately take time, regardless of your unease. In that deceleration the noise fades and what truly matters becomes visible. Speed is often an escape. Here, you are allowed to stand still.
Who is executive coaching for?
I work with directors, executives and managers of medium-sized and large organisations. You don't come to me because you are failing. You come because you excel and you sense there is room for more. More calm. More clarity. More autonomy in how you lead.
"You don't come because you are failing. You come because you excel."
